IronPass Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 26th March 2025

1. Introduction
Welcome to Iron Pass! Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Iron Pass collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our application.

2. Information We Collect
Iron Pass is designed as a local password manager, meaning it does not collect, store, or transmit your passwords to external servers. All your data remains securely on your device/devices.

However, Iron Pass may collect limited data to enhance your experience, including:

  • Crash Reports & Analytics: To improve app performance and fix issues, we may collect anonymous crash reports and usage analytics. This data does not include personal or sensitive information.
  • Backup & Import Data: If you choose to back up or import passwords, the data remains encrypted and stored only on your device/devices or a location you specify.
  • Feedback & Support: If you contact us for support or provide feedback, we may request additional information such as device information, app version, or system logs to diagnose and resolve issues effectively. This information is used solely for troubleshooting and improving the app.

3. How We Use Your Information
Iron Pass only uses collected information to:

  • Improve app performance and user experience.
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
  • Maintain security and prevent unauthorized access.

4. Data Security
Iron Pass uses AES encryption to secure your passwords. Since we do not store your data on external servers, your information remains private and accessible only on your device/devices.

5. Third-Party Services
Iron Pass does not share or sell your data to third parties. However, the app may use third-party libraries for crash reporting and analytics, which collect non-personal data to help us improve the app.

6. Availability Across Platforms & Syncing
Iron Pass is designed to be available across multiple platforms, including Android, iOS, and browser extensions. Regardless of the platform, all your data is stored locally on your device/devices.

If you use the Iron Pass Chrome extension, passwords are temporarily stored in the browser for a limited period. The extension syncs passwords with your mobile app using a secure QR code-based P2P connection. Any new passwords saved in the browser will be pushed back to your mobile app upon re-syncing.

7. Your Rights and Choices
Since Iron Pass does not collect personal data, you have full control over your information. You can delete your passwords at any time within the app. If you uninstall the app, all stored data is permanently erased from your device/devices.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any changes will be reflected in the app and updated on our official website. We encourage you to review this policy regularly.
